Solips is an artist-run performance space and platform curated by Bastian Buddenbrock and Fabian Neubauer in Wuppertal-Vohwinkel.

Rather than offering a distant spectacle, Solips invites proximity and participation. Performers and visitors share the same floor, creating situations shaped by interaction, immediacy and unpredictability instead of passive spectatorship.

Solips focuses on experimental and interdisciplinary practices, including improvised music, performance art, dance, movement-based work and hybrid formats that resist fixed categorization. The program connects local and international artists working across different aesthetics, methods and contexts.

The space itself functions as a transformable black cube that changes with each event. Performances may extend beyond the venue into its surrounding environment.

Operated independently and with a DIY ethos, Solips seeks to create conditions for artistic work that do not rely on constant self-explanation, adaptation to fixed expectations or institutional framing. Rather than representing a scene or artistic identity, the venue operates as a framework for artistic encounter and experimentation.
